Downtown Los Angeles is filled with a bunch of cool, fancy, pricey restaurants. Being an unemployed college students, I’m always “iffy” when it comes to spending 10$ for lunch or 20$ for dinner. For 10$, I can get two Subway footlong’s that can last me the next day. I can buy 20$ worth of groceries that can last me up to three days or even a week.
Since I try to be frugal with my money as much as possible, to “beat the system” of these pricey meals, there’s “Happy Hour!!!”.
Yes, I’d rather spend 4.99$ for an order of Spicy Crabmeat Tempura Roll compared to 11$ for regular price!
So before I get to the good part (the food), here are some “wallet friendly” advise…
- Take advantage of Happy Hours: (Usually they have “Happy Hour” which is around 3- 7 because it’s after lunch, or a “Reverse Happy Hour” which is around 9-close because its after dinner.)
- Share your meal with a friend/group: (splitting total cost of meal in addition to happy hour is a more win situation then normal hours; Splitting cost in half at normal hours is cool too.)
- Skip the fancy drinks/soda’s: (Soda can be an add-on of 2-3$, fancy drinks obviously costs more)
Here are a few pictures from Happy Hour friendly resturants in the DTLA area…
